"15,000" updates being reported by some users
There are now three reports on thread
http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7install/thread/40d64906-201f-48d6-8110-84ce31efe408
of 15,657 updates reported upon reboot after applying this months updates on Windows 7. Anyone have information about this?Colin Barnhorst Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on DIY with 6GB ram.

Thanks, Vegan, but I don't have the problem. Like I said, at last count three users in the thread I cited are reporting this improbable event. Can you pop over to that thread and see if you can give them some guidance?Colin Barnhorst Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on DIY with 6GB ram.

There is a problem in your setup as there are only about 60 update for Windows 7 out so far.
You may need to backup and do a clean install

For God's sake Vegan, slow down and READ my posts. I am not the one with the issue. These posters in the other thread are reporting that they are getting 11 updates but on reboot Windows displays a message stating that over 15K updates were
installed. Please take a look at what they are reporting. Three of them is not a crank report. They are inexperienced so I just promised to go get some help. Now I'm out. Thanks for helping.Colin Barnhorst Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on DIY with 6GB ram.

Hi Colin Barnhorst,
During the installation, there is an option “Get important updates for installation”, this process requires online updating, please make sure you choose
this option during the setup like following:
As Vegan said, you can back up and do a clean installation again.
In addition, since it’s not a same forum, Colin, please redirect the members in that Answer Forum to this thread. Just copy the thread link and paste it there.
You can also suggest others to start a new thread here, it’s more convenience for them to provide more details directly.
Thanks for your cooperation.
